Super Mario - Level 1 - James Hill

Tonight I’m posting an arrangement of “Super Mario” Level 1 that James Hill plays in one of his videos found on YouTube. This transcription will replace the original Super Mario tab that I transcribed some years back from his debut CD.

James reviewed the transcription and I have incorporated his comments. James had this to say about his arrangement. “I'm glad you're transcribing this version; the live arrangement is more fun to play.” I agree that this version stands on its own and is fun to play however; I find it very challenging to play at tempo. It’s not a song I myself am particularly interested in having in my repertoire but there are a fair number of folks out there interested so I hope this helps out.

The tab can be found on the TABs page via the links at the very top of this page.

Happy New Year!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very Happy New Year. I hope we all achieve our ukulele goals as we work through 2008. I held off this New Year Post in hopes that I would have some tabs to post at the same time but it didn’t work out like I’d planned.

I will be updating the site with 3 new tabs very soon. I have completed the first drafts for Bryan Tolentino’s version of “Over the Rainbow”, James Hill’s Youtube version of “Super Mario” as well as Paul Luongo’s Youtube version of “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton. I’ve sent the drafts off to each of them for review and should be receiving their input soon.

I recommend clicking the links to hear the source recordings so you can see if these arrangements are of interest to you. Bryan's link is to his MySpace site so I also recommend giving a listen to his other tunes. I have previously transcribed the title track, "Ka `Ukulele Lele", which is available on the Tabs page.

Until next time, keep ukin’ on.
